brought to you by the number 2

I've been sewing my brains out and I have the arm pain to prove it. I just haven't kept up with the blogging end of it all, so here's a bit of a rundown...

I made 2 quilt tops last week. LOVE those Kona solids!

2 is the number of lunch bags that my sister and I made last week. We talked about making these for 2 years before we actually got around to it. I love them! Each one could also double as a small purse or as a cute knitting project bag. 2 is also the number of times my sister quilted hers. Let's just say that free motion quilting did NOT go well for her. At all. It made for some good laughs, though.

2 days until I send my boys off to school. I have mixed feelings about it.

I quilted 2 quilts on Saturday. Which means I have 2 quilts to bind.

2 is the number of hours I stayed up past my bedtime reading a great book. It's not all about quilting all the time around here, if you can believe it.

Tomorrow I get to see my 2 cutie pie nephews. Yay!

And 2 is the number of hours I plan on spending at the beach this afternoon.

One last thing for today, although it has nothing to do with the number 2, I've been loving Pandora. Love, love, LOVE it! If you have kids, I highly recommend the Schoolhouse Rock station. It's so much fun. The kids and I are kind of addicted.

Happy Monday to you!

Pandora is awesome! I've created stations for knitting and spinning. I guess I should create some for momming now.

Great quilts, great lunch bags (by the way, what pattern did you use?), and we love pandora! Had it on almost all morning while doing schoolwork. I'll have to check out that channel!

... and speaking of the number 2, I have 2 FREE BOOKS to GIVEAWAY on my new blog - be sure to check it out, as it fits right in with your theme today. :)

... and I agree about mixed school feelings.

My sister just bought a bunch of the Kona cotton in those same colors! I love how yours turned out. I don't get to sew often enough with my sister but when we do it's often filled with laughs, making the time go way to fast!

You have been so busy lately; I can see why your arm hurts! I love your quilts, especially the blue solids, which just glows! I love how you tied everything to the number 2 in this post - such a clever girl! Let me know you think of that book cuz I read The Last Sin Eater by that same author and I loved it. Might want to try another one by her. Hope you enjoyed the beach!

Wonderful! I love the pics. Like a few others, what pattern did you use for your lunch bags? I'd love to whip one up for my hubbie... thanks! (My self-made lunch bag pattern did not go well and the pieces are still laying in my cupboard.)

I think I love all your quilts.

That blue one reminds me, somehow, of Lego bricks. Must be the proportions of the rectangles. Love it!

I have no idea what a kona solid is - yet - I just learned what a layer cake is.It was the word cake that lured me in.

I am so glad you are back! You started my love of quilting (I used to post comments from my teamsax blog) and now I can gain inspiration from you again!

The spiderweb quilt is awesome, but I think I am going to try the Kona solid blue quilt, but in pink as my next adventure. I'm not so good yet at anything, but squares & rectangles :)

Good Lord! You are a sew-aholic!! :)
Love the lunch bags.

I read Redeeming Love years ago. I loved it. It's really hard for me to get into "Christian Fiction" (often a TERRIBLE writing style!--where are the editors???) but that's one book that I dug. And a couple others of hers.

I love the plaid one - and I love the spiderweb quilt in your previous post. The spotted backing is perfect.

Love your projects! I've been in a sewing frame of mind the last month or so. I'm slower to churn out projects as I'm a novice. But I did make a "Joseph" coat and a library tote bag for my daughter who is off to her first day of Kindergarten in 2 days. Your quilts are inspiring!

I loved that book too! You may want to read her "mark of the lion" series! Incredible. And while your at it, Liz Curtis Higgs trio of books with Fair is the Rose and Thorn in my Heart, and Whence Came a PRince are also amazing books!
